MINISTER

Rev. Cathy Larmond

Reverend Cathy Larmond came to us in the spring on 2019. She has brought with her a wealth of experience – both in front of the congregation (Zion UC, Lindsay Road UC, Forest UC Sparta-Union Pastoral Charge, Grimshaw-Berwyn Pastoral Charge, Alberta) and with Presbytery.  Rev. Cathy holds an honours BA in English and Sociology from McMaster University and earned her MDiv. at Queens Theological College in Kingston.  Cathy has served as Chair of Elgin Presbytery, Kent Presbytery, twice, and was elected Chair of Lambton Presbytery, but stepped down after her husband, George, was diagnosed with cancer and eventually passed away in 2008. Cathy has served as a president of London Conference (2015-2016).  She also was elected as a General Council Commissioner for the General Council 41(2012) and General Council 42(2015) and 43(2018.)  She has three sons – George, Joe (fiancée Alecia) and Davey(fiancée Cadence), as well as one grandson, Theodore(son of Joe).   Cathy is an active (life time) member of the UCW.  She also enjoys knitting and crocheting, reading, music and camping.Please CLICK HERE to email me.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH LEADER

Mary Ross
Mary Ross joined Clinton United Church as the youth leader in January 2019, and has a long history of leading youth in the United Church. Throughout highschool, she volunteered at her home-church's Sunday School, and has contributed 7 years of leadership at Camp Menesetung (local United Church Camp), from cabin roles and programming, to co-directing the camp for 3 years. Outside of church, Mary is continuing her education as a part-time student working on her MA in Theology, spiritual-care, and psychotherapy, she works as a certified music therapist, and a studio music teacher.

Mary likes to see what is working so well about camp, and bring aspects of camp into the church whenever she can, so most activities are inspired and influenced by the youth; they have the opportunity to create the youth-church experience they hope for.

The church office is open Tuesday to Thursday from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm where our secretary, Marilyn Seebach is there to assist you. The office is closed Mondays and Fridays

Are You on PAR? What is PAR?

‘Pre-Authorized Remittance’  A monthly automatic debit from your bank account and credited to Clinton United General Account. You decide the amount and designate to local expenses, Mission & Service and other. If you would like to be set up on PAR, fill in the authorized card available on the desk by Church office and attach a VOID cheque.  Give both to church treasurer, Marilyn, at the church office. Any changes you want to make for next year's Givings, please notify Marilyn.

Membership Transfer

We delight in the faith, warmth, and goodwill that abound in our church on Sunday mornings and in all the other ongoing midweek groups and activities. Energy, empathy, and sincerity characterize our relationships – whether we always agree with each other is less important than that we are willing to engage with each other! If you have been a regular visitor for a while now and are contemplating joining our fellowship through profession of faith or membership transfer, we invite you to contact our minister.
